NSF Major Research Instrumentation Program

Internal Deadline:
Mon, July 31 2017 - 5:00 pm
Funding Agency Deadline:
Mon, February 05 2018
Eligibility Criteria:

We are accepting notifications of interest in the next cycle for the NSF Major Research Instrumentation Program (https://www.nsf.gov/pubs/2015/nsf15504/nsf15504.pdf).  MRI assists with the acquisition or development of shared research instrumentation that is generally too expensive to be supported by other NSF programs.  The instrument acquired or developed is expected to be operational for use by the end of the award period.  The program does not support acquisition or development of a suite of instruments to outfit labs or facilities or that can be used to conduct independent research activities simultaneously.  The program requires cost sharing of 30% of the total program cost.  Requests generally range from $100,000-$4 million however proposals requesting less than $100,000 are accepted for the disciplines of mathematics or social, behavioral and economic sciences.

Statements of interest (no more than 1 page) should include:

                Name and department of PI

                Collaborators/Co-PIs (with department)

Instrumentation to be acquired or developed

Location where instrumentation would be housed

Will instrumentation be acquired or developed
