USDA Agriculture and Food Research Initiative (AFRI) – Food, Agriculture, Natural Resources and Human Sciences Education and Literacy Initiative

The Agriculture and Food Research Initiative (AFRI) is America’s flagship competitive grants program that provides funding for fundamental and applied research, education, and extension projects in the food and agricultural sciences.

Applications are solicited in the following four Program Areas:

1.       Professional Development for Secondary School Teachers and Educational Professionals (PD-STEP)

2.       Research and Extension Experiences for Undergraduates (REEU)

3.       Predoctoral Fellowships

4.       Postdoctoral Fellowships

Please note: This limited submission announcement pertains only to the PD-STEP and REEU Program Areas. The Predoctoral and Postdoctoral Fellowships are not limited submissions.

Number of Nominees Allowed: 

Any single institution may submit a maximum of three grant applications; limit of one award per lead institution.
