The Ralph E. Powe Junior Faculty Enhancement Awards (ORAU)
The Ralph E. Powe Junior Faculty Enhancement Awards provide seed funding for junior faculty to conduct research. The award amount is $5000 from ORAU and is matched with $5000 by the VPR. Eligibility is limited to full-time assistant professors within two years of their initial tenure-track appointment. The research project must be in one of the following five disciplines: Engineering & Applied Science, Life Sciences, Mathematics/Computer Sciences, Physical Sciences, or Policy, Management or Education. OSU may submit two nominations/cycle.
*****For this limited submission we are requesting that ADRs forward a single nomination from each college. The nomination should include a two-page (not including the CV) research proposal that addresses the following:
- research goals and objectives and relevant background
- expected research outcomes and relevance
- research design and methodology
- competence of the applicant to perform the proposed research
- the available research facilities and resources
- a budget justification
- a one page CV
From past experience we know that collaborative relationships at ORNL are a bonus, please be sure your nominee includes any collaboration information in the proposal.
